Bangkok and Jakarta - two massive cities, both on the charts of the world's largest. We had planned on visiting historical sites outside of the city of Bangkok, but the weather was not very favorable....both blistering hot and strom storms kept us seeking entertainment in controlled environments. Bangkok has some serious malls, nothing like these in the states, plus they are thriving. Everyone escapes the outside and spends countless hours exploring these indoor markets.

Da Nang is a vibrant coastal city located in the central region of Vietnam. Known for it's beautiful beaches and many tourist attractions; it was an excellent stopping place for us to visit for a couple of days. We even splurged a little bit and stayed on the beach in a 5 star hotel! That was a very pleasurable experience in and of itself, lol! The neighboring town of Hoi An, a well-preserved historical community, made for a nice side trip to do a little sight seeing and shopping. The food and beverage here was top notch! Oh, and we discovered a little food stall in Hoi An that served Anthony Bourdain a meal, so, of course, we had to give it a try - delicious!

This region is absolutely incredible. The mixture of stunning natural beauty, it's rich cultural history, the quaint villages and towns, made this area well worthy of the time we gave it.
